Heavy tungsten alloys

WNiFe – Class 3

Tungsten Alloy

WNiFe is a heavy tungsten alloy composed of tungsten and a nickel-iron binder phase. It offers a higher degree of strength, density, and ductility than its nickel-copper counterpart, at the cost of slight ferromagnetism. Offering an excellent balance between high density, mechanical strength, and machinability, it is widely used for balancing weights, kinetic penetrators, radiation shielding, and precision components in the aerospace and defense industries.
