Concept Métal, your supplier of nickel and nickel alloys
Nickel alloys comprise a family of high-performance materials designed to withstand the most severe environments: high temperatures, corrosion, and creep. Inconel, Monel, Invar, cupronickel, and ferronickel are each suited to specific industrial applications.
What is a nickel alloy?
A nickel alloy is a metallic material in which nickel is the base element or a major component, combined with chromium, iron, copper, or molybdenum to achieve specific properties.
The main families of nickel alloys are:
- Inconel (Ni-Cr): high-temperature creep resistance
- Monel (Ni-Cu): resistance to marine and chemical corrosion
- Invar (Ni-Fe): very low thermal expansion
- Copper-nickel: marine environments and heat exchangers
- Ferro-nickel: dimensional stability and controlled magnetism
This product line meets the requirements of the most demanding industries, ranging from aerospace and nuclear power to the oil and chemical sectors.

The Properties of Nickel Alloys
High-Temperature Resistance
Alloys in the Inconel family (625, 718) retain their mechanical strength at temperatures above 700 °C. They are used for turbine blades, combustion chambers, and aircraft engine components.
Corrosion Resistance
Monel and cupronickel are distinguished by their excellent resistance to marine, acidic, and chemical environments. They are widely used in the petrochemical and offshore industries.
Dimensional stability
Invar 36 has a thermal expansion coefficient that is virtually zero at room temperature. This unique property makes it indispensable in metrology, cryogenics, and precision instruments.
What are the industrial applications for nickel alloys?
Because of their exceptional properties, nickel alloys are used in many industries for the manufacture of:
- aircraft turbine and engine components
- heat exchangers, reactors, and piping for the petrochemical industry
- Pipes and equipment for the nuclear industry
- precision instruments and metrology equipment
- components for the shipbuilding and offshore industries
- components for furnaces and high-temperature equipment
