Concept Métal
Custom-made electrodes
In the most demanding welding processes, the choice of electrode often makes the difference between a reliable weld and a costly defect. Concept Métal custom-made welding electrodes made of tungsten, copper-tungsten, and molybdenum alloys, tailored to your industrial applications and production requirements. From standard geometries sharpened to your specifications to the most complex shapes for resistance welding, we meet all your custom-designed electrode needs.
Choose Custom-Made
Why Choose Custom-Made Electrodes?
Standard electrodes available on the market meet only a fraction of industrial needs. Whenever your automated welding application requires a particular geometry, a specific steel grade, or tight tolerances, only a custom-designed electrode can deliver the expected performance. The benefits are clear:
- Higher-quality welds thanks to a geometry perfectly suited to the workpiece.
- Extended service life for the electrodes, which reduces production downtime and production costs.
- Greater precision on small welds or in hard-to-reach areas.
- Energy Optimization : The right grade and shape help reduce the welding machine’s power consumption.
Our Products
Our Custom-Made Welding Electrodes
Concept Métal a wide range of electrodes suitable for the main welding and electrical machining techniques:
- Shaped TIG Electrodes : specially ground, non-standard lengths, and shaped tips for precision welding on non-ferrous metals.
- Electrodes for resistance welding : spot welding, projection welding, and roller welding. Cylindrical, conical, truncated conical, or complex geometries according to your specifications.
- Electrodes for Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) : Copper-tungsten or pure tungsten electrodes for the electrical discharge machining of complex shapes in heat-treated steels and carbides.
- Contact electrodes and electrical equipment components with high thermal resistance.
- Electrodes for spark welding and special processes (stud welding, thermal spraying).
Each electrode is manufactured based on a design you provide. We produce everything from single prototypes to recurring production runs of several hundred units.
Materials
The materials used for our electrodes
The choice of material is critical to the electrode’s performance and longevity. Concept Métal a complete range of grades suited to every application:
- Pure tungsten (W) : high density and excellent thermal stability for high-intensity welding.
- Copper-tungsten (W-Cu) : the ideal combination of copper’s conductivity and tungsten’s mechanical strength. Common grades: W75Cu25, W80Cu20, W90Cu10.
- Molybdenum and TZM : for electrodes subjected to intense thermal cycling or harsh environments.
- Copper Alloys : reference materials for high-speed resistance welding electrodes.
Support
Technical support from design through delivery
Designing a high-performance electrode requires genuine metallurgical expertise. Our specialists will guide you through every step:
- Review of your specifications and analysis of welding constraints (intensity, cycle time, materials to be joined).
- Recommendations on the optimal grade based on expected service life, cost, and production rate.
- Geometry Validation and recommendations for improvements to optimize performance.
- Manufacturing under quality control with material certificates and dimensional inspections.
This integrated approach saves you time and ensures the safe commissioning of your welding equipment.
