Ferro-nickel

INVAR 42

FeNi42

UNS K94100

Invar 42 is an iron-nickel alloy containing 42% nickel, with a coefficient of thermal expansion that lies between that of Invar 36 and common metals. When absolute dimensional stability is not critical, Invar 42 is a cost-effective alternative in many applications. It is particularly used for glass-to-metal seals in electronic tubes, automotive and industrial lamps, as well as transformer and capacitor bushings.
